Extension of nails - advantages and disadvantages.
Extension of nails is a fashionable salon procedure that allows you to solve a number of problems with nails, for those people who have suffered from diseases that have spoiled the nail plate over time. People with abnormally growing nails or having deformed nail plates as a result of trauma also benefit from the opportunity to grow decorative nails.
There are two technologies for extending the nail plate: gel and acrylic. Each of them has its advantages and disadvantages, but there is also a similarity between these technologies in that they both help to strengthen the nail plate in those people who, due to a lack of any microelements, are soft, exfoliating.
Gel and acrylic are applied in two ways: on tips or in a mold.
Nail tips (plastic onlays in the form of nails of various lengths and designs, which are attached to the surface of the nail with glue).
Form - a plate with a window cut out in the shape of the nail - is applied over the nail, filled with material and removed after it has hardened.
With both technologies, the nails are pre-cleaned to give the plate a rough surface - a retention attachment for the material.
Acrylic is much harder than nail tips, and you can only file it with a special cutter. You can file gel nails with a file. Gel nails on tips are filed with a cutter.
Acrylic nail grows with the growth of the nail, and at home it cannot be shortened without special equipment.
The materials gel and acrylic are dissimilar, but compatible. acrylic is faded and rough, it is good for them to model convex shapes - design solutions, sparkles and rhinestones are mounted in it, which are firmly held when it solidifies.
The gel is smooth and shiny, it creates a perfect surface, but you can hardly put glitter in it. By combining two materials, gel and acrylic, you can achieve interesting solutions. When changing the color on the nails, do not dissolve the acrylic, it is removed with a cutter layer by layer to the very surface of the nail, cleaning the nail itself. At the same time, the nail plate becomes thinner, and if a new layer of acrylic or tips is not applied, it becomes vulnerable to mechanical and chemical influences.
The gel can be removed at home with a special liquid or acetone. To peel off the tips, the nails are soaked in special warm solutions to dissolve the glue that holds the tips on the surface of the nail.
