Muscle drying - what is it?
For athletes who want to build muscle mass, a prerequisite is the relief of the muscles, which is not always clearly visible.
This is due to the fact that with an increase in muscle volume, the body fat also increases, since fat deposits accompany muscle growth.
To give more pretentiousness to the muscle corset, athletes begin the stage of drying the body, as a result of which the fat layer should decrease, and the relief should become more distinct.
You can dry muscles at any time, but it is more rational to do this by the summer:
- firstly, by summer, the body independently gets rid of a part of the fat layer, and will not interfere with the forced expenditure of fat by countermeasures;
- secondly, it is in the summer that you can show off the honed relief muscles.
In fact, drying the body is about reducing the percentage of body fat through exercise and a specific diet (lean).
Drying the body has nothing to do with the process of losing weight, since the volume of muscle mass will need to be maintained.
Bodybuilding experts advise drying the body gradually, extending the process over several months, for example, three or six. This will make it possible to painlessly for the body and psyche to survive a decrease in the diet. The calorie content of food at the time of drying the body is calculated as the product of body weight by 25 versus weight gain during the period of pumping up muscles (body weight multiplied by 50). For a 100-kilogram athlete, these numbers will be 2500 and 5000 calories per day, respectively.
In the diet, they adhere to the tactics: carbohydrates plus protein, and there should be much more carbohydrates, because training does not stop, and the athlete needs to get energy reserves somewhere.
Fats, potatoes and other starchy foods are excluded from the products during drying. But they leave the side dishes of porridge (buckwheat, oatmeal), focus on low-fat boiled meat dishes, low-fat varieties of fish and seafood, side dishes are preferable from a large number of vegetables (cabbage of different varieties, salads, eggplants, tomatoes, cucumbers). It is preferable to eat eggs without yolk, refuse dairy fatty products for the duration of drying, supplementing the diet with powdered protein (it is fat-free).
