Klebsiella bacteriophage.
The Klebsiella bacteriophage is presented in two versions: the polyvalent Klebsiella bacteriophage is a solution of phagolysates of the Klebsiella bacteria strains of the enterobacteriaceae family: Klebsiella pneumoniae, Klebsiella ozaenae, Klebsiella rhinoscleromatis. (Latin name: Bacteriophage Klebsiella polyvalent purum fluidum), and bacteriophage of Klebsiella pneumoniae, synonym Klebsiphage (Latin name: Bacteriophage Klebsiella pneumoniae purum fluidum).
The bacteriophage Klebsiella is used in case of a detected bacterial infection, the causative agents of which are the bacteria Klebsiella pneumonia, Klebsiella ozena, Klebsiella rhinoscleroma (or only Klebsiella pneumonia). To obtain an effective treatment, it is necessary to first check the detected bacterial strains for phage sensitivity.
Indications for the use of Klebsiella bacteriophage are:
- respiratory tract diseases: ozena, rhinoscleroma, pneumonia;
- diseases of the pharynx, sinusitis , conjunctiva;
- enteral diseases: gastroenteritis, colitis, dysbacteriosis;
- urogenital infections: cystitis, pyelonephitis, vaginal dysbiosis and others;
- surgical infections: peritonitis, pleurisy, purulent tissue lesions;
- prevention of nosocomial infections caused by the above bacteria.
The rules for using the bacteriophage preparation are universal for all types of bacteriophage preparations. Schemes for taking Klebsiella bacteriophage are identical to those for staphylococcal or pyobacteriophage bacteriophages. Klebsiella bacteriophage is used for oral administration, externally, rectally, vaginally, in the form of lotions, irrigations, enemas. It is possible to use the bacteriophage preparation in the form of aerosols for the effectiveness of treatment.
The bacteriophage solution should not be warmed up (only at room temperature or in the hands) and it is not recommended to use it immediately after using antiseptics or simultaneously with antiseptic agents.
Klebsiella bacteriophage has no side effects and contraindications, except for cases of individual intolerance to the components of the drug.
