Streptococcal bacteriophage.
Streptococcal bacteriophage is a drug used to treat and prevent infections caused by strains of the streptococcus bacteria.
Latin name: Bacteriophagum Streptococcum.
Streptococcal bacteriophage is a solution of the filtrate of phagolysates of streptococcus bacteria; for successful use, it is necessary to first determine the phagosensitivity of the detected bacterial strains to the bacteriophage.
Streptococcal bacteriophage is used in case of purulent - inflammatory diseases of various organs and organ systems caused by streptococcus bacteria:
- respiratory system (sinusitis , laryngitis, pharyngitis, chronic tonsillitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, bronchitis, tracheitis, pneumonia and others),
- digestive system ( oral dysbiosis, intestinal dysbiosis, gastroenteritis, colitis and others),
- urinary system (pyelonephritis, cystitis , urethritis ),
- gynecological diseases (colpitis, bacterial vaginosis , endometritis, salpingo-oophoritis),
- purulent inflammatory diseases in newborns (omphalitis, pyoderma, enterocolitis, conjunctivitis),
- with surgical infections and after surgery (abscess, phlegmon, carbuncle, furunculosis, panaritium, purulent wounds, mastitis, osteomyelitis, bursitis).
The scheme for using streptococcal bacteriophage is no different from the scheme for using staphylococcal bacteriophage. The bacteriophage preparation is used externally in the form of irrigation, tamponation, inside orally, by catheterization of organs and cavities, rectally (by the introduction of enemas). You can read the rules for using streptococcal bacteriophage here.
Streptococcal bacteriophage has no side effects and contraindications for use, except for individual hypersensitivity to the components of the solution. It is possible to use the preparation of streptococcal bacteriophage in combination with other drugs, including antibiotics.
