Bacteriophage Coli
Bacteriophage Coli refers to drugs that can lyse pathogenic strains of the bacteria Escherichia coli (E. coli - Escherichia coli). Latin name: Bacteriophagum coli. If the bacteriophage is available in the form of a solution of 20 and 100 ml.
Usually conditionally pathogenic strains of E. coli bacteria are inhabitants of the large intestine and natural participants in microbiocenosis, but there are enteropathogenic strains of this bacterium that can cause severe food poisoning, intestinal disorders, dysbacteriosis, gastroenterocolitis; purulent - inflammatory infections of the respiratory system (including purulent sinusitis, otitis media, tonsillitis, pneumonia, pleurisy, etc.); surgical infections such as abscess, phlegmon, mastitis, carbuncle, hidradenitis, osteomyelitis, bursitis; urogenital infections ( cystitis, urethritis), gynecological diseases; wound infections, generalized infections and other types of purulent infections.
Coli bacteriophage is intended for the treatment of diseases caused by pathogenic strains of E. coli. The Coli bacteriophage drug is taken orally for enterocolitis, dysbacteriosis orally three times a day on an empty stomach one hour before meals; rectally in the form of an enema once a day with two doses of bacteriophage Coli inside. It is possible to inject the drug into the cavities of purulent foci through drains, irrigation of wounds, applications, introduction into the cavity of the vagina or uterus using enemas or drains, into the renal pelvis or bladder through a nephrastoma or cystoma. Coli bacteriophage preparation is administered to newborns using an enema. Doses of the drug depend on age and area of application.
The use of bacteriophage Coli does not exclude the use of other medications, including antibiotics.
Before using the bacteriophage Coli, laboratory tests are carried out for the phago-sensitivity of the bacterium Escherichia coli.
