Skin on the head care. Continuation.
Regular shampooing is a relative thing. This is due to the type of skin a person has in the head area. Dry skin does not require frequent washing, since the alkalis included in the detergent, which dissolve the fat, will increase the dryness of the skin on the head and lead to its increased keratinization, and dandruff of non-fungal origin will appear.
Oily skin on the head, although it requires more frequent washing, also has some peculiarities: the more often the skin on the head is exposed to hot water, the stronger the sebaceous glands work (for them the water temperature is a kind of irritant, and when it rises, the secretion of the sebaceous gland is stimulated). Thus, you need to wash your hair if the skin is oily, not too often and not with too hot water (you should not wash it every day, unless you do sports every day, which, among other things, also stimulates perspiration, including the scalp).
It should be noted that with occasional washing of oily skin on the head, oddly enough, its keratinization also increases, despite the salinity. This is due to the fact that the renewal of the stratum corneum takes place in the same rhythm that is programmed by nature, micro-flakes accumulate and turn into crusts, raised above the surface of the skin on the head and looking like dandruff. Therefore, when you see dandruff, do not rush straight to the pharmacy for an antifungal shampoo, but analyze the regularity of skin on the head care.
The shampoo should contain natural ingredients, although the chemical industry today is replete with technologies for converting synthetic substances into "natural" ones, it is still worth while choosing a shampoo to adhere to conservative views and well-proven companies, since new technologies do not always offer safe options for detergents for care behind the skin and hair. Egg shampoo and natural, without aromatic additives and dyes, laundry soap (such an unsightly brown color) has always been considered the most natural.
When shampooing, the hardness of the water is important, that is, with softened water, the hair and skin are washed more efficiently, since the fat-dissolving components of the detergent work more effectively. Therefore, do not be lazy to wash your hair separately with pre-filtering water from lime compounds. Despite the abundance of conditioners, rinses and other means for rinsing and treating hair after washing, the least traumatic agent for the skin on the head, which does not contain unknown chemical additives, remains the same filtered, boiled and cooled to the desired temperature water with the addition of 9% vinegar (can be fruit vinegar) for 5 liters of water one teaspoon of vinegar. The effect is restored natural hair shine and skin on the head not damaged by chemicals.
The temperature of the water for washing and rinsing should be different (rinse in cooler water, but not scalding cold). This will keep the vessels of the scalp in good shape and temper them.
Baths for skin on the head should be done once a week. To do this, prepare an infusion of herbs (string, chamomile, St. John's wort, plantain leaf, nettle), which can be alternated every week. The bath should not be excessively hot or cold, better than a temperature that your hand can safely withstand. The head is rinsed for 10-15 minutes, standing over a basin and pouring infusion diluted in water of the required temperature.
The best nourishing masks for the skin on the head are masks based on kefir, yogurt or serum. Everything that you add there (oatmeal, cabbage leaf, cocoa, etc., will not make any difference, since kefir, yogurt or whey will work). Mayonnaise-based masks can compete with such masks. But mayonnaise, in order to avoid unexpected consequences, it is better to prepare yourself. Then you will be sure that the mask includes raw egg yolks, vegetable oil (preferably olive oil), mustard (you can in the form of a powder), salt (sugar is not necessary - it's not for food, but for external use), freshly squeezed lemon juice : two yolks have a glass of olive oil, a teaspoon of mustard, a tablespoon of lemon juice, a little salt.
Do not add cognac, vodka and other alcohol-containing liquids to the mask, they will dry your skin and dry your hair. Over time, alcohol-based liquids will make your skin rough.
The mask is applied in such a way that the skin on the head, and not just the hair, is thickly smeared with it. After 2 hours, the mask is washed off. A nourishing mask is applied to the skin on the head once a week after the next shampooing for two to three months.
Moisturizing the skin on the head is not an easy thing, because water itself is not absorbed into the skin (the barrier properties of the skin do not allow this). To moisturize the skin on the head, as in general for any moisturizing of the skin, certain conditions, artificially created, are required. For example, at the time of rubbing a moisturizer into the skin on the head or applying other moisturizing agents, they tie the head with a moisture-proof material (polyethylene, oilcloth kerchief), put on a plastic or oilcloth cap (but not a rubber one!) - this is a wrapping method, it will delay the evaporation of liquid from skin surface. The role of such a film in ready-made cosmetic moisturizers is played by petroleum jelly, fats, lanolin or vegetable oils.
Hair coloring, which provides for the prevention of allergic or other traumatic to the skin on the head, is carried out on the basis of such plant components as henna and basma. Of course, the variety of shades of hair in such dyes is scarce, but if their use is alternated with conventional hair dye products, then the skin will have the opportunity to regenerate and restore cells destroyed by chemicals, that is, a small "respite". Decoctions of chamomile flowers (lightens hair), onion peels (depending on the shade of the peel, the hair will be given a reddish tint of varying intensity) plays the role of a tint shampoo.
Tight hairstyles should be alternated with loosely styled hair, without elastic bands, hairpins or other devices that tend to stretch the hair and provoke "fatigue" of the skin on the head.
Some physiotherapy procedures (darsonval, ultrasonic vaporization), spa treatments, mesotherapy and massage have a beneficial effect on the skin on the head, stimulate its blood supply and trophism.
And do not forget about balanced nutrition and vitamin and mineral complexes with vitamins A, E, B - the skin on the head will be grateful to you!
