How to remove sagging skin?
Loose skin is a common occurrence for various reasons. Laxity of the skin indicates that the processes of restoring turgor (tension, filling of tissue cells with water) are disturbed in the skin. The restoration of skin turgor is hampered by factors that are directly dependent on a person's age, the course of metabolic processes, endocrine disorders.
Under the age of forty, loose skin can result from:
- a sharp loss of excess body fat,
- lack of sufficient muscle tone,
- stretching of the skin after childbirth,
- stretching the skin after the edema subsides,
- the location of subcutaneous cellulite, which gives the skin an uneven appearance,
- insufficient intake of water that maintains the turgor of skin cells.
After forty years, flabbiness of the skin is a consequence of age-related aging of the skin: loss of firmness and elasticity of the fibers that penetrate the skin.
Laxity of the skin is rather an aesthetic problem that does not pose a threat to health. You can remove sagging skin with conservative methods and surgery. The choice of method for correcting sagging skin depends on the degree of stretching of the skin.
With minor stretches and sagging of the skin, it is enough to build muscle mass with physical exercises. Contrast showers and hydrating creams will help tighten minor laxity.
Cosmetic methods allow you to eliminate skin laxity by injecting subcutaneous hyaluronic acid.
Large-scale sagging of the skin is removed by trimming the skin flaps. Such lifting of sagging skin is done most often in the abdomen, thighs, knees, forearms, and chin.
How to prevent sagging skin? Preventive measures to prevent sagging skin should include:
- proper nutrition, preventing the accumulation of excess adipose tissue,
- weight gain corresponding to a person's height and age (avoiding excessive weight loss),
- fitness classes to strengthen the muscles,
- sufficient drinking regime to restore skin turgor,
- treatment of endocrine disorders that prevent proper metabolism,
- massage and water treatments that stimulate blood circulation in the skin and subcutaneous tissue.
