Why does hair need Botox?
The use of Botox (botulinum toxin - neuroblocking agent) in cosmetology has beaten many rejuvenation procedures in popularity, which causes inexhaustible interest in this procedure, but in relation to hair. It should be noted that Botox for hair has nothing to do with a similar procedure for immobilizing facial muscles. "Botox" in hairdressing is used as the name of the procedure for hair rejuvenation and has only semantic meaning, which will not affect the state of innervation of either the scalp, or hair follicles, much less hair, in the structure of which there are no nerve endings.
The use of specific multicomponent formulations with the popular name "Botox for hair" (Botox) is designed to improve the quality characteristics of the hair, and is a hair care product, but already an innovative direction, since the main active ingredient contains specific molecules that can be incorporated into the structure hair and change its biophysical properties: the thickness of the keratin layer, elasticity, fragility.
The long-known fact that hair, despite its apparent inertness, is quite capable of absorbing harmful components from the environment, made it possible to use this property of hair to improve its quality, or, as they say in the case of Botox, to rejuvenate.
Hair does not like dehydration, and although the keratin scales that form hair are far from the ability to chemically interact with water molecules, since they are composed of fibrillar protein molecules (in essence, hydrophobic molecules that "avoid water"), they contain for the most part amino acids (glycine) and akin in composition to the protein collagen, the same one that is responsible for elasticity and firmness. It is amino acids that are responsible for the excellent characteristics of the quality of the hair and are found in large quantities in products with botox for hair.
A simple two-phase hair care procedure using Botox, carried out in salons by masters, is also feasible at home, but only if a person has mastered the art of high-quality mixing of components and their correct distribution through the hair. Mixing the components is necessary to initiate a chemical reaction that allows the keratin structure of the hair to be impregnated and allows amino acids to restore damaged areas of the keratin coating.
In addition to the amino acids that make up keratin, the quality of the hair is determined by the ability to retain moisture between the keratin scales (they do not absorb it) and the ability to tightly adhere the keratin scales to each other, which makes the hair look smooth and shiny. And for a snug fit and water retention, keratin scales must be lubricated with sebum. For this reason, the composition of the components of botox hair care contains vegetable oils, which act as a lubricant.
Botox is a hair treatment aimed at qualitatively changing it: giving it silkiness, elasticity, thickness, which create the volume and shine effect, which speaks of the well-groomed and healthy hair.
