Health for a lifetime >>>> A sedentary lifestyle is a path to illness
A sedentary lifestyle is a path to illness.
The human body is called by nature itself to be in motion. When moving, there are no stagnant phenomena in the tissues, metabolic processes flow smoothly, the circulatory system works without interruptions, muscle tissue is in good shape, a new portion of oxygen is more often supplied to the lungs, and digestive waste is evacuated without delay.
But often, many people neglect an active lifestyle, preferring passive sitting or lying to it. This is facilitated by the choice of a profession (in the field of computer technology, in the financial system, in laboratory research, in the technical field, etc.), the choice of a hobby or a way of rest (reading books, watching movies, playing computer games, just sleeping).
And although a relaxed state, sleep, passive contemplation of the environment are necessary ways of resting for the nervous system, it is worthwhile to intersperse them with active leisure activities: walking on rough terrain, walking in parks and woodlands, hiking shopping, short-term aerobics classes. dancing (you can at home). A good charge of vivacity and energy is given by classes related to picking mushrooms, berries, and medicinal herbs. A summer cottage can become not only a source of harmless vegetables and fruits, but also a sports complex where a person can alternate bending, squatting, jumping and stepping over wide beds that imitate physical education exercises. Riding a bike is more enjoyable than an exercise bike, and playing volleyball and basketball will cause your spine to stretch out rather than bend.
To understand how much health a person loses by living his life voluntarily choosing a sedentary lifestyle, it is enough to recall those diseases that begin with a sedentary lifestyle:
- hypertension,
- obesity,
- pulmonary diseases,
- blood vessel thrombosis,
- swelling,
- muscle fiber atrophy,
- curvature of the chest and spinal column,
- disturbances in the innervation of certain parts of the body,
- osteoporosis,
- disorders of the gastrointestinal tract (colitis, constipation),
- poor adaptation to changing climatic conditions,
- vascular spasms,
- angina pectoris,
- headaches,
- deterioration of brain activity,
- depression.
In order to postpone the onset of the above diseases, you need to change your attitude towards a variety of ways of rest, interrupt the working sedentary environment for warm-ups, walk to work or walk part of the way on foot, go up and down the stairs, not by elevator. More often to be outdoors, and not to sit with a book in a stuffy, dusty room, break away from the computer for at least a couple of hours and go to play sports games.
